A common defense for homosexuality is that same-sex attraction is natural for homosexuals.  There’s nothing wrong with homosexuality - the animal kingdom is filled with examples of same-sex erotic behavior.  It's natural.  Now on the surface, there seems to be some truth to the claim that homosexuality is natural.  It’s not unusual, for example, to see male dogs mount each other in an erotic way.  There are two problems with this view, however.
Should Christian couples consider becoming foster parents when there is a risk that the child may be adopted by a “gay-couple” and then be subjected to their lifestyle which is contrary to Christian belief?
Columnist and blogger James Lileks wrote, “I return to the Kirk Doctrine, expressed in the Star Trek episode 'The Conscience of the King.' He has passed judgment on a suspected tyrant, and the dictator’s daughter asks ‘Who are you to judge?’ ‘Who do I have to be?’ Kirk snaps.”Judging can't be avoided.  We all do it.  And we should.  The ideas of reform and improvement presuppose making judgments about right and wrong, superior and inferior.

Rhetoric is winning the day.Lately when I hear public crossfire-type discussions on the issue of same-sex marriage—discussions that have filled the airwaves since the unfortunate incident at the Miss America pageant—traditional marriage wins on the merits, but the other side wins the rhetoric game. It’s time we stop letting others frame the debate in terms of “tolerance,” “fairness,” “equality,” and “compassion,” in a way that pushes us into defense mode trying to neutralize the loaded language, but never really gaining any ground for our side.
So... let me see if I understand this. Heterosexual couples cannot get married if they want to get married as heterosexual couples. They can only get married if they get married as non-sexual couples. The state no longer recognizes heterosexual unions as such. In an odd kind of way, heterosexual couples cannot get married. This couple is not married in the eyes of the law because they refused to be reduced to non-gendered participants.
